Full explanation & FAQ

What this tool tells you

Compare side by side how Bear Hunt damage changes with the Inf:Lan:Mks ratio, using your own troop count and per-type stats. You can also see in numbers why '100% marksmen' is not the best answer.

How it works

The same model as the Bear Hunt Damage Simulator is used: total troops are fixed and the expected damage of each ratio is computed as a relative value. Troop-type characteristics and the loss from having zero infantry or lancers are included, so builds with too little front line score lower. It is meant for comparing ratios, not for absolute values.

How to use it

Enter your total troops and the per-type attack bonus % from the in-game Stats screen, then pick preset ratios or add your own. The chart and table show the best ratio; take it to the simulator for a detailed estimate.

* Attack values are the per-type figures from the in-game Stats screen. Lethality is approximated as proportional to attack here (for exact numbers, use the main Bear Hunt simulator).

Change the values above and the bars grow/shrink in real time. See which ratio wins for your stats.

For exact damage including hero skills and exclusive gear, use the main simulator.

Why 100% marksman is not optimal

Adding troops raises damage by less than the share you added, so all-in on one type plateaus. Public tests also show a penalty when infantry/lancer are zero. Marksman is efficient against infantry, but mixing in some lancer/infantry usually wins on total — which is why "marksman-favored but not all-in" is standard.

What is the Troop Ratio Simulator?

Bear Hunt damage changes a lot with your infantry / lancer / marksman ratio. This unofficial simulator lets you compare major ratios such as 10:30:60, 10:10:80 and 1:1:8 side by side using your own troop counts, so you can move past "just go 100% marksman" and pick the best split with numbers.

How to use it

  1. Enter your total troops (or each troop type you own).
  2. Pick the ratio presets you want to compare (e.g. 10:30:60).
  3. The estimates appear side by side — choose the setup that pulls the most.

Why isn't "100% marksman" optimal?

Marksman are efficient against infantry, but zeroing out infantry and lancer is penalized in public testing. Without front-line infantry/lancer the formation breaks and total damage can actually drop. As a result, "marksman-favored but not all-in" is the standard. This tool quantifies that gap with your real numbers.

Common ratios at a glance

Ratio (inf:lan:mks)Character / best for
10:30:60Balanced. Thicker lancers for stability. Easy general-purpose pick.
10:10:80Marksman-heavy. Higher damage but a thin front line.
1:1:8Very marksman-heavy. High output when it fits, but fragile.

The best ratio depends on heroes, gear and generation. The reasoning is covered in the guide.

FAQ

Which ratio is strongest overall?
It varies by setup and opponent — which is exactly why a side-by-side comparison with your own counts helps.
Can't I just run 100% marksman?
A zero front line is easily penalized and usually loses on total damage. Mixing in some infantry/lancer is safer.
