Who is Cyrille?

Cyrille is the "Giant Bear Hunter" — a Bear Hunt specialist expert. The official wiki calls him "one of the most legendary hunters of the ice fields," a "beast killer," and (lore-wise) Klaris's mentor. He survived a giant bear attack in his youth and has fought beasts for twenty years since. Fitting résumé for the job.

Lore aside, one thing makes him matter: his talent "Hunter's Heart" adds a flat +30% to your final Bear Hunt damage points. As covered in our damage mechanics guide, nearly every way to raise Bear Hunt points is "raise raw damage" — Cyrille is the rare exception that raises the point-conversion rate instead.

"Hunter's Heart": what +30% damage points really means

This talent is the heart of the matter. Per-level values below — it reaches +30% at Lv11.

Lv1234567891011
Bonus+2%+4%+6%+9%+12%+15%+18%+21%+24%+27%+30%

Per-level values are our own research (cross-checked against community sources and in-game text). The official wiki lists only the +30% max.

The key detail: the bonus applies to your final point total — after attack, lethality, exclusive gear, pets and hero skills are all calculated, the result is multiplied by 1.3. If one rally earns you 20 million points, Lv11 makes it 26 million. Over 10 rallies in an event, the gap grows to 60 million points — without changing a single hero or soldier.

MOLLY'S TIP
If you enjoy Bear Hunt, Hunter's Heart is effectively mandatory. Raising raw damage by 30% costs enormous gear and hero investment; Cyrille gives you the same 30% for expert XP alone. In our alliance, expert talk always starts with "how far is your Cyrille talent?"

For the deeper cost-effectiveness math (Lv0 vs Lv11, versus other boosts), see "How strong is Cyrille in Bear Hunt? Talent verified". To see the effect on your own numbers, flip Cyrille's level in our Bear Hunt Damage Simulator.

Which skills to level first

For Bear Hunt focused players, the order is:

  1. Hunter's Heart (talent) — for the reasons above. It's the only slot that directly multiplies point rewards, and nothing substitutes for it. Push it as far as you can.
  2. Weapon Master & Scavenging — "dividend" skills that pay Essence Stones and Enhancement Components every round just for showing up. Japanese strategy site Altema rates Cyrille's skill line SS-tier with Weapon Master first. The lower your power, the more these matter.
  3. Entrapment — +300,000 rally capacity is strong, but only when you lead the rally. Rally leaders should bump this way up; joiners can wait.
  4. Ursa's Bane — +30,000 personal deployment. Weak if your troop count isn't hitting the cap anyway; overseas guides (A Jack Of) note it loses value when deployment is restricted.

Cost-wise Cyrille is also the cheapest expert to raise: Altema's comparison puts Agnes at ~1.2×, Bald at ~2×, and Romulus at several times to tens of times Cyrille's cost — hence the common advice that F2P and light spenders should start with Cyrille.

Official posts and outside reviews

For an outside view: Altema scores Cyrille 9.0/10, citing the +30% point bonus, the capacity boosts, and the fact that even low-power players benefit from the material skills.

Here is the official account's post asking players for feedback on the new expert system — a sign of how much the developers are investing in this content.

The overall consensus: "Cyrille first if you do Bear Hunt" is barely contested — the real debate is how far non-Bear-Hunt players should take him. Next section.

PvP/SvS-first player? You may not need max level

Honestly: it's not mandatory. Hunter's Heart only raises Bear Hunt points and does nothing for PvP damage. If SvS and Foundry are your game, Cyrille Lv11 is "nice, not urgent."

Zero investment isn't quite right either, though. Bear Hunt is a main source of gear materials (Essence Stones, Enhancement Components), and a Cyrille with Weapon Master and Scavenging leveled quietly funds your PvP gear every round. A sensible PvP-first build is "both material skills + Hunter's Heart to a mid level." The early talent levels gain a steady +2–3% each, so just feed him spare XP as it comes.

FAQ

Q. Can F2P players raise Cyrille?
A. Yes. He only needs in-game resources (expert XP, Books of Knowledge) and is among the cheapest experts to develop. It takes time, but spending barely moves the needle here.
Q. What level of Hunter's Heart counts as "done"?
A. Lv11 (+30%) if you care about Bear Hunt. Every level on the way gains a solid +2–3%, so nothing is wasted. PvP-first players can park it around Lv5 (+12%) and pivot to the material skills.
Q. I only join rallies (never lead). Do I need Entrapment?
A. Not urgently. Rally capacity helps the rally leader. As a joiner, finish Hunter's Heart and the material skills first — and see our left-hero guide for joining basics.

Summary

Cyrille owns an irreplaceable talent — +30% Bear Hunt damage points — that makes him effectively required for Bear Hunt players. Order: Hunter's Heart → Weapon Master & Scavenging → Entrapment (leaders) → Ursa's Bane. PvP-first players needn't rush max level, but the material dividends alone justify some investment.
