Bear Hunt damage is mainly driven by the rally leader's heroes and skills. Here is how to pick them and how generations matter.

Players with three strong attack heroes should lead; thin rosters are better off joining a strong leader.
The bear does not counterattack, so defense/HP skills are useless. Prioritize DMG-up, ATK-up, proc follow-up/DMG, troop-type buffs, and enemy DEF-down (Hendrik, Ligeia, Estrella, Eleanor: DEF -25% is a separate multiplier, counted as x1.25 on this site).
Newer heroes have higher base stats, but strong older heroes (e.g. Gen-1 Jeronimo/Natalia) with good skills and exclusive-gear rally bonuses are still core. Compare in the simulator.
Heroes valued for Bear Hunt rally leading as of 2026 in the overseas community, by troop type (general guidance — your own progression shifts the order).

These rank "raw skill performance"; your own progression (level, exclusive gear, stars) easily reshuffles the order. Swap them in the simulator to see which raises your numbers most.
Some skills are weak or wasted on a rally leader in Bear Hunt. Stun, stamina reduction, march speed, defense/HP buffs don't contribute to points against a bear that doesn't counterattack. The community is clear that "outside of damage/attack/lethality skills, value is low in Bear Hunt." Even some newest heroes whose skills reduce enemy damage dealt aren't useful here, lowering their rally-leader value.
